WELL, until you read my book(still under publishing construction), I won't bore you with all the pertinent details.....PLUS it takes too long to RE-write all that's happened in my 67-years now, life!
To be VERY brief, I started in radio broadcasting at the very sweet & tender age(HA!) of 15, in 1959. My "uncle"(not really, Mom just wanted me to call him that), Rollie, was a television newscaster at KOLO-TV(Channel 8, Reno, NV) and was a part-time announcer at KONE Radio(also in Reno). Bored at home, he asked if I wanted to go "to the station" one Sunday morning, and I accepted. W-O-W!!! "Look at all those dials & knobs & machinery", I remember saying. That quick glance at the inside of a radio station was all it took. 25-years later, and many formats of music, news and talk radio, I "was a star"! And, that's it. I was probably "in your radio" at one time in the past, having worked all over Northern California from 1966-83(KCRA, KFOG, KOBO, KHSL, KPAY, KORV, KSUE). I even managed to Own and/or Manage a few along the way(KZMK-Bisbee, AZ / KBUB-Sparks, NV) I've been a race car driver, owner and announcer from Oroville Dam Raceway('67), Live Oak Memorial Stadium('66-'69), Triple M Raceway('74), Roseville All American Speedway('74), & the Famous International Police Destruction Derby in Placerville('74).
Yep...been there, done that! I've ALWAYS loved music, of many types. And, I always enjoyed "playin' the hits" for people. Hope you enjoy the show.
